Lead Designer

Santa Monica

We’re seeking a Lead Designer to manage the creative direction of our company. This position will work interchangeably with multiple departments including engineering, operations, and marketing. You will report directly to the CEO.

As a mobile first company, we need someone with experience applying design strategies to mobile applications as well as the web. On the one hand, you are a talented UI/UX designer with experience creating and documenting navigation structures, information architectures, user interfaces, and interaction models. On the other hand, you are a branding expert who can work with our marketing team to refine the overall appearance, voice and direction of our brand across a wide variety of mediums.

You will create unique graphics and produce impactful materials that tell our story on print and digital platforms


  • Develop and grow the Washio brand into a cohesive vision
  • Manage creative projects from conception to completion
  • Collaborate with our engineers and marketing team members to create wireframes, mock ups, prototypes, etc.
  • Create and uphold the identity of Washio across multiple mediums, this means everything from the iOS app all the way to the emails receipts and every material a user might experience in between

Minimum Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a related design field
  • 3+ years of design experience
  • A portfolio with outstanding and diverse design work

  • Experience applying content design strategies on mobile

Full Stack Engineer

As a full stack engineer you would be joining a small, dedicated team and working directly with the CTO and CEO to build out our product. With your technical experience you will manage individual projects from design and development to testing and production.


  • Should be extremely well versed in Javascript

The goal of the science team is to develop automated solutions to mathematical models of every problem we face in order to enable the company to grow effortlessly. Our stack is built on python and C++, as appropriate.

Director of User Acquisition

Santa Monica

Washio’s Director of Paid User Acquisition will lead new customer acquisition efforts. The position will include both strategy and execution.

Leveraging a substantial budget, you will drive both scale and efficiency, managing campaigns across multiple channel partners. You will also test new channels in search of innovative ways to reach potential customers.


  • Manage marketing budgets across mobile and web
  • Define launch and post launch user acquisition plans that achieve Washio's growth plan
  • Ensure team is tracking effectiveness of advertising campaigns and implement continuous improvements and optimization.
  • Source, evaluate, and test new user acquisition channels.
  • Identify, negotiate and close media buys with ad partners.
  • Scope and run landing page tests
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with key acquisition partners such as Nanigans, Groupon, DSPs, Pandora, Facebook and Google
  • Drive A/B testing programs for new ad products and channels to maximize acquisition efforts and return.
  • Partner with product team to identify product features that improve effective customer acquisition and retention.
  • Conduct analysis with analytics team to validate the accuracy of the LTV model behind paid campaign users.
  • Cultivate mobile expertise within the UA team: identify insights into app store algorithms, research new platforms and networks, track competitors.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5 or more years of online acquisition experience with 2+ years of management experience
  • 2+ years of experience with mobile user acquisition
  • 2+ years of experience buying over 100K per month in advertising
  • 2+ years of experience buying advertising with CPA and LTV goals

VP of Finance

The VP of Finance will manage Washio’s day-to-day financial duties and long term financial model. This position will work on all strategic and tactical matters as they relate to budget management, cost benefit analysis, forecasting needs, debt financing and securing of new funding. The VP of Finance will also ensure that the Company accounting procedures and reporting conform to the Companies’ requirements by leading the accounting team.

We’re looking for someone who is comfortable and excited to conduct research to make informed decisions about business negotiations. Additionally, a strong candidate enjoys a fast-paced and sometimes unpredictable start-up environment.


  • Manage the annual budgeting and monthly forecasting process.
  • Ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of the day-to-day accounting, financial planning, reporting, analysis and cash management.
